"As a beginner rider I have been visiting the Cycle Gear store in Bear, DE. to get the things I need to get started. The folks there have been very helpful. It's great to be able to try on gear that, if fitted properly, could save your life (and the hassle of returns, etc.), or if fitted improperly would have to be returned or worse yet would sit unused instead of being worn. Of course, Cycle Gear's online shopping experience is also top notch, but I guess I'm spoiled by living within driving distance. And the prices are very competitive too!
If there is any downside, I just wish the store was twice as big so they could display a bit more of what they offer online, but if that were the case they probably never would get rid of me!"

I was shown and had demonstrated a Bilt modular helmet, which fit perfectly and I bought it. A few weeks later, I was so pleased with the ease of phone use while riding I wanted to upgrade my Shoei Neotec II winter helmet. Again, was shown neat little Sena device which sales guy offered to install for free. I couldn’t be more satisfied!"

"I live in MD and have been a customer of this store before. I went there looking to purchase the HJC I-90 or Bell SRT modular helmet. Unfortunately they did not have the I-90 in my size or the SRT modular in stock at all. I was a little disappointed. The staff member helping me suggested 4 other modular helmets to try on. The first 3 did not fit my head (I have an intermediate oval head shape but a pronounced bone on my forehead that limit my helmet choices) or would not allow the use of prescription glasses. The fourth helmet was the Shoei NEOTEC 2 and fit me perfect. I have a Shoei RFSR so I know Shoei helmets fit me like a glove. I did not want to spend $700 on a helmet but I could not pass up the quality and fit of the helmet. After purchasing the helmet, the staff member cleaned the shell, face shield and drop down sun visor. Before leaving the store, I inspected the helmet and found a couple micro scratches on the visor. I told the staff member and he apologized. He then quickly swapped out the visor and even though it was a brand new visor, he cleaned it anyway. He apologized again, even though it was not needed and I was on my way down the road. Great service for such an expensive helmet! I spent twice the amount of money I was looking to spend but the service I received was definitely worth it!"
